Former Australian Speedstar reckons with the green signal from the boards the cash rich league will be going held in UAE in their 13th edition and with this the yellow army “CSK” are in the race very ahead of others one more time to clinch the IPL trophy in their own style.
With three trophies already under their name CSK are the favourites – 2010, 2011 and 2018.
The part of two franchises Kolkata knight riders and Kings XI Punjab Brett Lee in his IPL Journey. Although, Brett Lee believes I have been always a big fan of team like CSK and with the kind of balance they have in their team and instincts to deal with pressure situation makes him the most difficult side to beat even in the hostile condition.
From top order Shane Watson and Ruturaj Gaikwad to the middle order invincible Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis and Ambati Rayudu and the genius of finisher MS Dhoni along with best all rounder Ravinder Jadeja makes this combination completely dominating side in the league.
Looking at their bowling unit with the pacers like Lungi Nigdi, Sam Curran and Josh Hazelwood they looked more balanced and with spin department Imran Tahir and Mitchell Santner CSK looked impossible to beat out easily.
“I reckon their strength is that their players are a bit more elderly, mature. They’ve got that youth coming through but they’ve got a lot of players who’ve been around a long, long time and I’d say that’s their greatest strength,” Brett Lee said on the Cricket Connected Show on Star Sports.
Brett Lee – With pitches and conditions like UAE Spinners have more opportunity to succeed
Brett Lee further added, with the slow turning tracks is another reason for CSK are the favourites of tournament in IPL 2020. The pitches are more often spin friendly in UAE.
With the amount of game changers in the Chennai super kings Arsenal like Mitchell Santner, Imran Tahir, Ravinder Jadeja and Harbhajan Singh they don’t need figures to back their case they can single handily breach the defense of opposition and win games on their own.
“Recently, I’ve looked at the forecast of the next two or three weeks. It’s 40 degrees, plus the wickets will surely turn. Therefore, I feel CSK will feel a lot more at home. Imagine all those spinners getting big rips, big turn. I reckon they are definitely suited for this tournament and should definitely be favourites,” Brett Lee said.
With the cherry on cake and UAE conditions it won’t be any wrong to say if CSK will add another trophy to their feather in the coming season of IPL 2020.
