While there is news from BCCI officials the final which was on November 8 will be shifted to November 10 (Tuesday) with the new date now. Even the games will be held in different fixtures from the earlier seasons due to fitness levels of players.
Talking to IANS, BCCI officials said it will be a rare sight for fans to have the finals on a weekday like Tuesday, November 10.
“We have decided to go up till November 10 and so the final will be held on a weekday for the first time. Also, to ensure that there is enough gaps between games considering the travelling and the bio secure environment and keeping all these things in mind, we will have 10 double headers this season,” the official said.
The schedule of Evening games will also different now, with every chance to get the feel of live-action in stands
The BCCI further added the new timings of Evening games will be half an hour before the usual time of 8:00 PM.
“We have decided to bring it forward by 30 minutes from the regular time of the IPL which is 8 p.m. for evening games and we will start at 7:30 instead.”
While adding further, games will be held without the fans this time – which will be “tea without sugar”. But there are some news fans could attend the games with social distancing protocol. With safety would be our primary concern, BCCI official said.
“It would be great to have some fans come in as that would boost the morale of the players for sure. But what needs to be remembered is that the safety of the players is priority. So, these are things we will discuss with the ECB at the right time,” the official revealed.
While in the coming edition of IPL 2020, there are rules for double headers between the teams. While with fans to attend the games under the protocols as the officials also have to consider the viewership factors.
