IND VS AUS 2020 – Gautam Gambhir Says, Shubman Gill Should Gets Adequate Opportunities Like Virat Kohli

The former Indian opening batsman Gautam Gambhir says that player like Shubman Gill should gets adequate opportunities like Virat Kohli to perform at the international stage. The Border-Gavaskar Series will move to Gabba to feature the fourth test match from 15 January and it will be same test when Shubman Gill Will play his third test debut for team India.

Although it is expected that Rohit Sharma will be available for the remaining test matches who was earlier into the quarantine period before the Sydney test. Even when Rohit Sharma returns Gautam Gambhir believes Shubham Gill should not be out of the team and remains the part of playing XI.

”Only time will tell if Shubman Gill will be successful as an opening batsman. But getting an opportunity and making your debut in a Boxing Day Test in Australia, it can’t get much bigger than that. But again, I expect the team management not to pick him on hope. Pick him on trust,” explained Gambhir.

“Even if Rohit Sharma comes back, they have got to push him somewhere in that batting order. It will be very unfair on Shubman Gill if he opens the batting and gets to a 20-30 and then suddenly Rohit Sharma comes back, and Gill finds himself outside the playing XI,” Gambhir added

Team India has featured in two practice matches so far and Shubman Gill has scored 0 and 29 in the first game while in the second practice match Gill has scored 43 and 65. Shubman Gill have made his test debut at Adelaide but the selectors have one more time decided to give a try to Prithvi Shaw who has failed badly in first test match after getting out cheaply in both the innings. Now Shubman Gill should not be dropped from the team. His abilities shows that he will be superstar of the coming decade.
