World Cup semi-final 2015 Australia vs India

5 years ago, exactly if you remember the modern day Champions India was defeated by Australia in the semi-final of the 2015 CWC which was held in Australia. After showing some serious level immense consistency to reach the knockout stages of the league under the guidance of captain cool Dhoni, India just crumbled under so much of pressure in the semi-final game and it lead the Aussies went on to win their fifth title of world cup trophy under the leadership of Michael Clarke.

The modern great Steven Smith and destructive Australia opener Aaron Finch confirm his tickets for final by setting together 182-run second-wicket partnership to help the Australia put up a massive total 328 on the scoreboard. After winning the toss and decide to bat, Aussies got off to a worst start as they have lost the destructive left-handed opener David Warner to Umesh in the fourth over of the game. However, on the side Smith and Finch stick together to batted on to put India under serious pressure.

Apart from that the Indian seamers didn’t let any other Aussies batsman to reach a mark of fifty, the Aussies team went to post a huge target for India to conquer. The aggresive Indian opening batsman started very slowly and put on 76 runs for the first wicket. The dangerous Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan looked in pretty good touch, but the latter lost his momentum to offer his wickets while batting at a score of 45 runs. The furious Virat Kohli looked very horrible out of form as he managed scored only 1 run in his first 12 deliveries. Later on, he soon departs to dangerous left-arm pacer Mitchell Johnson as India clearly visible down the line. Dhoni and Rahane put some efforts for late miracle.

But two smart run-outs of the Indian captain and our last hope Jadeja removed any hopes of moving to their second successive final. The modern day great Smith, who kicked off the tournament as a prominent batsman for Aussie of securing a title at home, Smith scored a total of 402 runs in just 7 matches at an average of 67. His only century was scored against India in the semi-finals to help india to took their return tickets to home.
