IPL 2020, KXIP vs DC: 3 Things Went Wrong For DC

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) went against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the match number 38 of cash-rich league. While on the one side Delhi Capitals (DC) has won 7 out of the 9 games before this game and looking to confirm their ticket to playoffs after this match. But things have went against them and they have faced defeat from the hands of Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 5 wickets.

Although Delhi Capitals (DC) are the top of the table and this loss won’t affect them anywhere as they have to win just one more game to qualify for the playoffs out of their remaining four games – which is not a hard task for Delhi Capitals (DC). But this defeat makes the race of top four contenders of playoffs more interesting.

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) has 4 games out of their 10 games and there hopes are alive after this victory against Delhi Capitals (DC) and if Kings Xi Punjab wins their remaining four games they can easily qualify for the playoffs. Having said, let us take a look at three things went wrong against Delhi Capitals (DC).

Delhi Capitals Fell Short of 25-30 runs

After winning the toss, Delhi Captain Shreyas Iyer decided to bat first with no surprise. But their opener Prithvi shaw was back to the pavilion at the score of 25/1.

Except the Southpaw Shikhar Dhawan who remained unbeaten on 106 runs off 61 balls which featured 12 fours and 3 Sixes couldn’t take the scoreboard over 164 with the loss 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

The other Delhi Capitals (DC) failed to score runs and not even single player apart from Dhawan reached even 20 runs score which in the end affected the Delhi Capitals scoreboard by the margin of 30 runs.

Delhi Capitals Not Playing With Best XI

Although this defeat won’t affect Delhi Capitals (DC) but could have been different result or maybe Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) over if player like Alex Carey, Anrich Nortje and Mohit Sharma are in the playing Eleven of Delhi Capitals (DC).

Delhi Capitals (DC) almost took the game too last overs but seems to be the team combination is not right as they have been defeated by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). They have the moment to kick Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) out of the league very easily but still they take it lightly.

It’s the biggest league in the world who knows if Delhi Capitals (DC) face off against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the eliminator match after this defeat. So if someone campaign is almost don’t give them any chance to redeem as it may going to kick in the end.

It Was Only Shikhar Dhawan For Delhi Capitals To Fight

Delhi Capital (DC) posted 164 runs in their allotted 20 overs out of 106 runs are of Shikhar Dhawan who remained unbeaten too and 4 runs are off extra. The other players only make the contribution of 60 runs in the team total which clearly depict the mindset of the players in this game.

If any other player could’ve made 50 runs as an individual the result and the picture was not same. As it is not acceptable to see other players couldn’t managed to score when Shikhar Dhawan made fine century and remained unbeaten on the same track.
