IPL 2020, RCB vs SRH – 3 Things That Went Wrong For RCB

When Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) romped against Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) in the second qualifier of the season. It was expected from the greatest batsman of modern day cricket to take his team to their one step closer to their maiden IPL Trophy to end draught of misfortunes from their long history.

But it looked we have to wait for the next season to see if Royal challengers Bangalore can even their first IPL trophy with the skipper like Virat Kohli. There are speculations about the captaincy of Virat Kohli in the major knockout games of any tournament. Is it captain Kohli is the right choice of Bangalore team or we will another captain in the next year season. Having said, let us take a look at three things that went wrong for RCB.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Had No Intent To Score Runs

Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) after winning the toss forced Royal challengers Bangalore to bat first at Abu Dhabi cricket stadium. There is no brainer that team batting first in the tournament have higher win-ratio then team batting second.

However Royal challengers Bangalore experimented his thought of opened the innings with Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal to give great start. But what followed next was complete opposite when Virat kohli and co reduced to 99/5 in the 16th over as only managed to score 131 runs in their 20 overs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore was not playing with best XI

In a eliminator match RCB was playing without Dale Steyn, Chris Morris, Josh Phillippe and Umesh Yadav. This was all surprise from the team like RCB. How can a team play such crucial game without their experience players.

If your expecting the team to win every game with few specific players like Kohli and AB de Villiers then this strategy won’t work anymore in this tournament.

Royal challengers Bangalore has less effective quality bowling attack

One more season and it was the same strategy from the previous seasons but result remain same. Team can’t going to win the tournament without having strong bowling attack. How can a team win with the batsman only and if that’s the idea then RCB has to keep the team of batsman only.

Let us see if in the next season RCB comes with the better bowling attack and some quality middle-order batsman along with the new captain to get different results.
