After winning the test series by 2-0, West Indies captain has believe that we have never considered ourselves as the in-experience team at all. Although they have played without the services of their regular players in the white-ball cricket (which they have lost) and red-ball cricket series.
In the first test match, West Indies have come from the behind to snatch the victory while in the second test match, Bangladesh has failed to achieve the target of 231 runs and lost the match by 17 runs. Although the match was almost even but in-experience west Indies have turn the tables at the last moment to sealed the deal of dramatic win.
“Bonner, Meyers and Joshua Da Silva were fantastic in the series,” he said. “I am not surprised. Before the series started, I had a chat with Meyers and Bonner. They were hungry. Joshua showed fight in his first Test in New Zealand, and I knew he would come out fighting here. These guys wanted to represent West Indies, and made their families proud. They were all in the ODI team so their experience served them well. They were very motivated in the Test series to turn the table on Bangladesh,” said Braithwaite.
“I was confident before the Test series that we could win, and the same during and after the first Test. The key to winning is discipline. We took 17 catches in the Dhaka Test, which is amazing. We bowled to the fields, and from a batting point of view, building partnerships and putting runs on the board, I think we will continue to do well as a team.
“Last time coming here, we lost 2-0, so to win 2-0 this time is pretty amazing. It is in the top two of my achievements. Winning away and sweeping the home team is truly amazing. We will never forget it. The future looks bright. We have to stay strong as a team, and keep the same attitude. This series was amazing.”
