Mercedes’ motorsports system executive James Vowles says he was ” very impressed” with Valentino Rossi’s ” precise” approach when driving the W08.
As a feature of a swap between seven-time MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi and six-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton, the two champions found the opportunity to swap into one another’s worlds.
Rossi would be allowed to drive Mercedes’ 2017 title-winning vehicle, while Hamilton experienced one of Rossi’s 2019 Yamahas in Valencia.
It was the Italian’s first F1 test since 2010, yet Sky Sports F1 detailed that Rossi set the quickest time 1.5s slower than Hamilton’s, but no official occasions were recorded.
Rossi surely earned a few admirers in the Mercedes club. However, one of them being Vowles who lauded his “fastidious” way to deal with the test.
