Pat Cummins began a tremendous bidding war in the IPL sell-off on Thursday, with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) getting him for 15.5 Crore INR.

The record for the most costly bowler in the IPL. Cummins had showcased in the IPL auction as an all-rounder.

This is the second most costly purchase throughout the history of the IPL sell-off, just behind the 16 CR offer Delhi Capitals made on Yuvraj Singh in 2015.

Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore were occupied with a savage offering war for Cummins on Thursday before KKR swooped in and won the day. Cummins has taken 32 wickets in 25 IPL coordinates so far with an economy of minimal over 6.

Interestingly, in 2014, KKR had purchased Pat Cummins for 1 crore INR. He had not got many chances to exhibit his talent at that point.
