There it is, then. 2-1 to South Africa, with West Indies up against the wall, with no scope for error in the next two. It got as close as it could’ve, down to the final over, but both teams carry their baggage – West Indies and their inability to forge partnerships and South Africa’s deflating finishing touch. With all the flaws, this remains a riveting series, with two games to go. For now, it’s a goodbye from us at Cricbuzz with sunrise a couple of hours away. Nighty night!
Temba Bavuma | South Africa captain: I think it is a confidence booster for us. We have found a way to get over the line – something we have missed in the past. There’s still a lot of cricket to go in the series. I think we have to have the conversations to finish well even though it gets harder to bat at the back end. We are striving for close to 180 and if not, we believe in our bowlers to take us home. Aiden is more than a part-timer, and it was good to have him, so it’s nice to have the extra option. Shammo (Shamsi) needs to control that middle-overs for us, and he has been doing that. George Linde has been learning too, but Shammo has been magnificent. These guys are not the World Champions for nothing, so we can’t take them lightly, so we must keep turning up and executing our skills.
